Cons: Class gets very hard and you could get lost if you don't pay attention. Its easy to fall asleep in his class so try to sit in the front. Pay attention after exam 1 because if you don't understand this material, you will get lost in exam 2 and the final.
Overall the first exam was easy, the second and final did not go well for me. Don't make the same mistake thinking that it will be easy because it will not be. Do all homework, programs (which are very hard), and hopefully you should get an A. Average for this class is B.
Cons: Going to class sucked, really dry humor, expected a lot of the students. Programming assignments were a large portion of the grade but assigned in a really short amount of time.
Ended up getting an A in the class even though I didn't quite understand all the material -- work on the programming assignments and you'll succeed.
Forbes has been the best teacher I have encountered at State. The material is somewhat difficult, but Forbes makes it very easy to understand. He is also a great guy to talk to as well. Take Forbes!
You learn some applicable basic electrician skills
Cons: John can be scary...
His tests are REALLY hard
Math
Physics
ect...
The lighting project is really fun, and everyone has a great time with it -- unfortunately that's only about 2-3 weeks of the class.
John is technical, and make sure you catch the little things he says in class -- they WILL be on your tests... It's hard to focus for an hour and 15 minutes in the mornings to a bunch of technical stuff -- but you better!
The lab is also a LOT of time commitment.
Cons: Goes a little too fast, Youll be way out of your league if youve never programmed before as compared to classmates, so dont feel bad
